Founders

Hi friends, our names are Maria and Zulfiyya. We are the founders of the shoe brand Harlem Shoes. We met each other through a dance society. We are just like you dancers, fans of swing dancing and lovers of beautiful shoes. 

As beginner dancers, we had a shoe problem. We have non-standard feet and it was impossible to find shoes for dancing. Only sports shoes were comfortable, but we were not satisfied with them. We wanted to dress beautifully for parties, competitions and showcases. And after dancing in tight shoes, our feet hurt and blisters appeared. This created discomfort and frustration.

These problems gave us the idea to create shoes for non-standard feet. We started from ourselves. We sewed shoes for ourselves and for our friends. This was experimental. After a really short time we realized that this is what we and everyone else with the same problem needed. During the process we learnt that most of the dancers suffer from “uncomfortable beautiful” shoes. Since we care about your foot health, we've crafted 3-in-1 shoes—high-quality, stylish, and supremely comfortable.

In addition to the shoes, we also produce Swing dance clothes for women & men. Dancers can complete their look with Harlem Shoes & Clothes and be the most stylish dancer.
