Types of soles
LEATHER SOLE
The leather sole is ideal for swing dancing indoors due to its slippery nature. However, we do not recommend using it outdoors, as the sole will get dirty and lose its slipperiness. Please note that this is a leather sole, not a suede sole. Dancers prefer leather soles for their smoothness, which facilitates easy turns and slides, thus reducing the risk of knee and wrist injuries. The shoes with leather soles are fully leather, but customers can request rubber heels for better braking. To make this request, please include it in the order comments or email us at [email protected].
NEOLITE SOLE
The neolite sole finds a balance between the slipperiness of leather and the stickiness of rubber. While generally slippery and comfortable for dancing, it offers a medium level of slipperiness (less slippery than the leather sole). Vegan customers often prefer this synthetic sole for dancing. Suitable for both indoor dance and outdoor use, it is recommended to add rubber heels for extra security when used outside. RUBBER SOLE
A rubber sole is a sticky, synthetic option suitable for street use. It is not slippery and is primarily recommended for casual wear. However, some dancers opt for rubber soles for activities such as aerials, jumpings or when dancing on slippery floors.
STREET RUBBER SOLE
The Street Rubber Sole is designed for everyday city wear, offering reliable grip and long-lasting durability on urban surfaces. Its tread pattern provides solid traction on pavements, wet sidewalks, and other typical city environments, especially useful in colder seasons.
This sole can be made upon special request and is available for all close-shaped models such as our boots, Oxfords, Brogues and others. Ideal for those looking for comfort and stability in their daily city routines.
HARD BOTTOM SOLE vs. STANDARD SOLE
Certain shoe models, such as Smooth boots and Oxfords, can be ordered with either standard or hard bottom soles. A hard sole is a bit thicker than a standard one, providing more grip with the dance floor. Both leather, neolite, and rubber soles can come in either standard or thick variations.
EVA SOLE
The EVA sole is lightweight, flexible, and provides excellent cushioning and shock absorption. Known for its durability and comfort, it enhances the overall performance of the shoe, making it ideal for dance & everyday wear.

HALF RUBBER HEEL
These heels are perfect for those who want slippery leather soles with a bit of a braking system. Half rubber heels reduce the excessive slipperiness of the shoes. This option is only available for 1-2 cm wooden heels.
SUEDE SOLE
Flexible suede sole, designed for smooth gliding, precise footwork, and maximum freedom of the movement. Our suede sole bends naturally with your foot, making it ideal for subtle pivots, floor connection, and controlled weight shifts. Perfect for dancers who want a more natural feel without compromising on function. Available for all models for Swing, Latin and Tango dances (including barefoot option)
RUBBER PATCH
Dancers who want less slipperiness sometimes choose a rubber patch. This is a rubber insert in the rigid leather sole at the front part of the shoes as a braking system. It has the same function as the “half rubber heel,” but the difference is that the rubber patch can be added to all shoe models.
